A place for prayer.
A Poem
Published on June 11, 2007 By Hazel Target In Poetry
I know:
a month later
it's not cute anymore,
just pathetic.

I know:
the cute waitress
at the pizza shop
deserves a second glance.

I know:
I said I wasn't waiting,
but I stay up to spend
less time in bed staving
off memories like Judas
staved off his silver.

I also know:
when I'm with you
I turn off my cell phone,
because it was only on
in case you called.

Loved the line

staving
off memories like Judas
staved off his silver

are you published? You should consider it. Don't be scared. You're quite talented.

Moskowitz,

Your vote of confidence is appreciated, but making money off poetry anthologies is difficult, or so I understand.

Who said anything about money? If you want to make money, get a job. If you want to make art, then make it.
